Shadow Warriors - Stepping out of the Shadows

When growth or performance stalls – what happens in business?  There is a remediation plan developed and executed to get back to growth.  Efforts are either focused on stopping the bleeding of profits or reinforcing guiding principles to jump start growth.  What do you do when your performance progress stalls or you fall backwards? Then the evil twin steps in and tries to sabotage any effort or positive outcome. The negative self-talk has the potential to cripple the strongest wills and minds.  You recede into the shadows and wallow in self-pity and procrastination.

The term often foreign to me comes shining through – patience.  While patience is a virtue it is often an intolerable nuisance, because it is the right behavior to adopt.  When your performance is stuck, plateaued or fell back from your norm – breathe – the step up and step out of the shadows.  Show up for the performance of the day.  The time to shine because this is the last day of its kind in your lifetime.  You will never get it back, so use it, strike patience with focus and hard work and you will never be in the shadows.

  • No Debbie Downer’s – Consider all of the people you spend time with, do they have experience bias and only what is true is based on their personal experiences.  Notice the people you spend most time with, are they inspiring or are the energy vampires like a Debbie Downer.  Their bias is cancerous so be careful.

  • Cultivate a mantra of kick-ass – Do not ever let someone else dictate your trajectory in life or in your day, move on and move past small minds and insecurities of others.  Do not waste your time cultivate a mantra of kicking ass in your life every single day.

  • What if – When you consider the statement what if you are being curious and that is contagious.  Fuel your positive mindset with the power of curiosity.

  • Affirmation and intention can be your turbo-charger – Set your intention every day with something positive.

Do the same tomorrow and the next day – courage, commitment and consistency is all that your destiny requires.  Keep pushing the positive and patient persistence – it will come.
